We are wine enthusiasts ourselves and we have been collecting vintages for a few decades now. We have the good fortune to live in the beautiful northern California where wine regions of Napa and Sonoma are an hour away and Paso Robles, Santa Barbara, and Mendocino are all within an easy drive. Our passion for wine has taken us to the many ‘old-world’ wine producing regions of France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland, and the ‘new-world’ regions of Australia, New Zealand, and South America.
We recall making several laps around a rond-point (roundabout, traffic circle) in Dijon dodging motor scooters while looking for the route to the next winery and lunching on a baguette and great cheese beside the road in Beaune. We learned how different vintages can be just one year apart at Chateau de Meursault after being spoiled for years by living in the wine regions of California—where wines tend to have much smaller variations between vintages. This diverse wine history has brought us an appreciation for quality wine storage that can allow us to safely collect and store vintages from around the world.
There are many cellaring options depending on your wine collection. Our cellaring solutions have evolved from 12-bottle capacity wine coolers (when we were in college) to a 332-bottle double dual zone wine cooler today. We launched Top 10 Wine Coolers to help fellow wine enthusiasts have access to the many cellaring options, and share our guides and tips about storing wine and enjoying wine. To the vintage world traveler, ‘Cheers!’
